Renowned local poet Aled Lewis Evans is esteemed for his books inspired by his lifetime experiences. Join us for readings by Aled from his latest collections of prose and poetry in English: Harvest Tide and Afterglow.
Harvest Tide is a lyrical look at Aled’s formative childhood in Barmouth during the late 1960s and tells the tale of one year in the life of a young man between two harvest tides. Afterglow, published in 2021, includes poems collected during the coronavirus lockdown and is his long-awaited volume of original poems in English following on from Someone Else in the Audience in 2012.
Aled’s work is inspired by his surroundings and speaks to the heart. It is accessible and enjoyable but also makes us think again about familiar subjects.
